Wedding at Berkley Castle, Nov 2008

Charged with the task of creating flower arrangments for a red and white themed winter wedding in a Medaeval banquet hall in the heart of the castle. I approached it in the most authentic manner possible and used greenery from the countryside surrounding my welsh mountain home.

Midsummer nights dream summer party

This was a private project for a birthday party. Collegues provided the yurt venues for my decorations. The aim was to make magic that took over the atmosphere of the night. Rather than concentrate on interior spaces I took the decor outside too, hanging silver baubles and tea lights all over the orchard, making hazel arches to frame the walk to the lake and standing etheral white branches with tea lights against the backdrop of the water.

The main music yurt was inspired by a need to create a party vibe mixed with the magic of midsummer. I chose gold with sequins and stars to reflect the mood then combined this with climbing ivy trails to give an outdoor authenticity.

This yurt was inspired by the idea of being in the tree tops, where Titania sleeps with her love. The whole roof is adorned with tiny twinkling baubles, birds and butterflies. The walls are hung with satin blue drapes with fluffy clouds on interspersed with greenery.

This yurt was inspired by the idea of a woodland grotto, I made clay mushrooms for the table and hung fairy lights in the netted roof.
